Meeting someone for the first time that I met via Twitter

This morning I am doing something that I haven't done before, meet someone for the first time.  The difference this time is that the friendship has originated exclusively from twitter.  This is part of the "extending yourself" requirement of this assessment.

Things will be okay, but it did get me thinking what are some of the things you can do to get to make the meeting  "as safe" as possible for both parties???  Here are some things we have done:

• Extend the friendship to multiple social networks.  Eg there is more info on facebook than twitter for eg.
• Meet in a public area, surrounded by lots other people.
• Meet during the day.

What am I missing?
