Twitter account @isys2356 has been paused until further notice by request of @johnct -> happy to comply in the interest Collegiality #rmitWhilst I don't necessarily agree with the rationale (repurposing content to another audience is another skill in itself), I am happy to comply in the interest collegiality with RMIT. Please post a comment or send me an email to cameron.stewart(at)student.rmit.edu.au if my actions have in anyway caused you harm or distress. Even better, you can blog or tweet about it!!!
That account was set up to test / demonstrate the principle highlighted in the Web 2.0 Safari subject guide
Since the 2009 bushfires, CFA Updates (an unofficial site, not linked to the CFA) has provided communities with the latest updates on the bushfire situation, using an information feed from the CFA website. The creator also has some interesting information on the technical processes used to create a Twitter feed .Although the linktechnical processes used to create a Twitter feed is dead (or at least points to a facebook group), I worked out how to do it. A couple of services you can use are
- Twitterfeed
- Dlvr.it <- newer, has quite a few nice filtering options.
Please Note: I would say that this idea probably falls into the category of an intermediate twitter skill and you would be best to work through the examples as spelt out on learning hub. You might however want to bookmark this page for future reference.
